What a fantastic recap! I was fortunate to have attended the Getting Gorgeous Suites, but I wondered about some of the other parties. Thanks so much for sharing!

I love the idea of shipping the products to the blogger's home instead of handing it out at the conference. I attended a breakfast/walk with FlatOut Bread and they did the same thing. I came home to a box FULL of their products and we have already used several. Since it was food and bread can be heavy, I might not have been able to bring it home otherwise. It was very good business on their part to do it that way.

[...] As you now know, I love the Old Spice branding campaign featuring Isaiah Mustafa, because all of the elements are funny, smart and speak effectively to its audience. But has the approach worked to increase sales? After all, it is product sales that keep Mr. Mustafa and his chiseled abs around to entertain us. [...]

Interesting observations. Not sure I agree about the macro and micro managing...but I see your point. Thanks.

Thanks for the validation. I know what you mean about the male qualities running off on female managers. That does provide good balance.

While I find that I have never given much thought as to how women managers differ from their male counterparts. I do however have some thoughts on the subject.
I think that women managers ingenious and diligent devoted to a project will move heaven and earth to achieve their goals. they give little leeway and once course is plotted loath to stray. Women like to keep wonderful records and display them they seem to be natural micro managers, and know what is happening and what is supposed to happen most all of the time. they go after one thing and totally subdue the objective before moving on to another. A woman manager stays in complete control and will not usually move on until her success is in the cement. I do not believe a woman likes to take a chance. I must admit that these women were and are successful at whatever they attempt.
On the other hand are the guys, eclectic and talented, full of new ideas and always attempting to move the business forward and the revenues upward. willing to give authority to others and expect them to hold the gained ground as they move on. Record keeping left to others and game plan changing as necessary in order to keep gaining market share and bottom line. Micro managing for the fast moving guy is for the people left to hold the ground while he is off to advance in the field. They are macro managers, overseers of a team and always seekers of opportunity yet discovered and will take calculated chances in order to advance their cause.
Women can and are macro managers too but I have the feeling that a woman will be more prone to micro manage and a man will be more prone to macro manage and delegate responsibility sooner then a women will and attempt to move forward faster then his female counterpart.
